This school holidays, get the whole family into the clay — two hand-building pottery workshops for kids and parents, no experience needed.
Workshop 1: Little Makers Pottery - Parent and Child
Ages 3–10 · one piece, made together
What You'll Do:

Choose your piece — a Clay Monster Whistle or a Funky Plate/Bowl

Hand-build it together as a parent-and-child team, with 1kg of clay to shape it your way

Workshop 2: Junior Makers Pottery
Ages 10+ · everyone makes their own

Hand-build your own piece side-by-side as a family — everyone shapes their own from scratch

Decorate it with underglazes before it heads off to be fired

FAQs
Q: What's the difference between the two workshops?
A: Little Makers Pottery (ages 3–10) is one shared piece per parent-child pair, hand-built together. Junior Makers Pottery (ages 10+) is individual — everyone in your group builds and decorates their own piece, so each ticket makes one piece.
Q: Do we need any pottery experience?
A: None at all — our team will guide you and your child through every step, from shaping to decorating.
Q; What will we make?
A: Little Makers Pottery: choice of a Clay Monster Whistle or a Funky Plate/Bowl. Junior Makers Pottery: choice of a Funky Plant Pot or a Tea Light House.
Q: How long does each session run?
A: 2.5 hours, including decorating your piece with underglazes at the end.
Q: Does the parent need their own ticket too?
A: For Little Makers Pottery, one ticket covers the parent-child pair building one piece together. For Junior Makers Pottery, everyone building a piece — parent included — needs their own ticket.
Q: When do we get our pieces back?
A: Pieces are fired food-safe, so they need 4–6 weeks before they're ready for pickup — longer than our paint workshops, but it's what makes them safe to actually use afterwards.
Q: What happens if my piece cracks or breaks during firing?
A: Because these are handmade, there's always a small chance a piece may crack, warp, or not survive firing — this is a natural part of working with real clay, not a reflection on your making. We check for weak points before firing, but we can't guarantee every piece will make it through, and we're not able to offer a refund or remake for a piece lost in the kiln.
Q: Is it messy?
A: A little! We'll have aprons on hand, but comfy clothes you don't mind getting a bit of clay on are a good idea.
Q: What age is this suitable for?
A: Little Makers Pottery suits ages 3–10, with a parent building alongside. Junior Makers Pottery suits ages 10 and up.
